In a significant meeting held at the Kerala Urban Conclave, Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, expressed his willingness to extend support from the central government for various development projects in the state of Kerala.

He further mentioned that discussions have been held with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan regarding a regional rapid transit system, stating, “Once the detailed project report is prepared and submitted by the state government, the ministry will approve and support it.”
Khattar also encouraged the Kerala government to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the second phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). This central housing scheme aims to address housing needs in urban areas and provide affordable homes for the urban poor.
