KOLLAM: The tranquil atmosphere of Thevalakkara Boys High School was disrupted on a typical July morning as the community gathered to bid farewell to 13-year-old Midhun, who had harbored dreams of serving in the army. His untimely demise left his classmates, teachers, local residents, and public representatives in a state of profound sorrow.

Midhun’s body was brought to the school premises where he once nurtured aspirations of a brighter future. The gathering at the site served as a poignant reminder of the young life cut short. T Sivarajan, a member of the Valiyapadam East Panchayat, echoed the collective sentiment, expressing the community’s difficulty in accepting Midhun’s death. He stated that they had all hoped to see Midhun succeed in his pursuit of becoming an army officer.

The exact circumstances surrounding Midhun’s demise remain unclear at this time. The school administration and local authorities have expressed their condolences to the family and promised to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation by the police.

A statement from the Nedumbassery Airport, where Midhun had once dreamed of serving as an air traffic controller, also conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family. The airport’s management pledged its support to Midhun’s loved ones during this difficult time.

In a heartfelt tribute posted on WhatsApp, Midhun’s classmates and teachers reminisced about their memories with him, celebrating his zest for life and spirit of determination. They vowed to keep Midhun’s dreams alive and continue working towards their shared goals.

Meanwhile, the local media outlet newindianexpress.com has reported that Midhun had been a diligent student and had shown great promise in academics. His family intends to seek legal advice on the potential copyright infringement of Midhun’s artwork, which he had shared online before his death, as it had gained significant traction.

As the investigation into Midhun’s demise continues, the community in Kollam is left to grapple with their loss and reflect on the dreams that were extinguished far too soon. Stay tuned for further updates as this story develops.
