KOZHIKODE: The Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), famously known as Milma, the beloved local dairy brand, has embarked on an international expansion journey. Over three tonnes of its diverse products have recently been dispatched to various Gulf countries, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s history. This development follows a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Milma and the Lulu Group.
The collaboration aims to expand Milma’s distribution beyond Indian borders, potentially increasing its global reach. The MoU was signed by KS Mani, the Chairman of KCMMF, and Yusuff Ali M.A., the Managing Director of the Lulu Group International, at a ceremony held in the city.
The Gulf countries are among the first to taste Milma products outside India, with the brand aiming to cater to the substantial Indian diaspora residing there. The initial shipment included popular Milma products such as milk powder, ghee, and paneer, which are staples in many Kerala households and beyond.
This expansion is a testament to Milma’s commitment to quality and its mission to provide fresh and nutritious dairy products to consumers across the globe. The partnership with Lulu Group, one of the largest retail chains in the Middle East, is expected to bolster Milma’s presence in international markets.
In an interview, KS Mani expressed his optimism about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership will not only help us increase our reach globally but also contribute to the economic growth of Kerala and India as a whole.”
As this story unfolds, Milma’s journey into the international market is set to transform the brand’s landscape and strengthen its position in the dairy industry.
