In a significant stride for technological advancement, the Zoho Research and Development Centre, Kerala’s first artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics research institute, is all set to commence operations in Neduvathur from July 2. The facility will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Established by the IT major Zoho Corporation, the centre is expected to employ 250 people during its initial phase. This development marks a significant step towards industrial growth in Kerala, as stated by the Finance Minister of Kerala, K N Balagopal, during his recent visit to the facility.

The institute, once operational, is anticipated to boost technological research and development in the state, potentially spurring further industrial expansion. Jayaraj Porur, a spokesperson for Zoho Corporation, commented on the potential impact, saying, “This centre will not only contribute to Kerala’s economy but also foster a culture of innovation and technology within the state.”

V Sumalal, an industry analyst, echoed similar sentiments, expressing optimism about the institute’s role in fostering technological growth. He stated, “The establishment of such a research centre signifies Kerala’s commitment to embracing cutting-edge technologies and positioning itself as a hub for technological innovation.”

As the countdown begins for the center’s inauguration, the people of Kerala eagerly await its official opening and the opportunities it promises to bring. The institute is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the technological landscape of the state and propelling Kerala towards a future defined by innovation and progress.
