In the current year of 2025, the Malayalam film industry is maintaining its impressive streak by delivering captivating content on Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms. The interest in Malayalam movies and shows has significantly grown in the northern regions, with viewers eagerly anticipating new releases.

Two recent films that have garnered attention are ‘Aaraattu’ on Prime Video and ‘Joji’ on Netflix. Both movies present complex themes such as personal demons and strained partnerships among patrol officers. In ‘Aaraattu’, Prithviraj Sukumaran delivers a gripping performance as one of the patrol officers, while Fahadh Faasil stars as his partner in ‘Joji’.

The success of these movies is not isolated, with notable actors like Ronth (Pranav Mohanlal), Shivaji Guruvayoor, Pearle Maaney, Indrans, and Roshan Abdul Rahoof contributing to the industry’s growth on OTT platforms. Their performances are a testament to the depth of talent in Kerala’s film fraternity.

As we move forward in July 2025, it remains to be seen which new releases will captivate audiences across India and beyond. The Malayalam industry continues to push boundaries and offer compelling narratives, making it a must-watch for cinephiles everywhere.
