Thiruvananthapuram – In a move that has drawn attention amid ongoing debates over the higher education sector in Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan paid a visit to Governor Rajendra Arlekar at Raj Bhavan on Sunday. According to reports, the meeting, which lasted from 3:30 pm to 4:35 pm, primarily focused on various issues related to state universities.

The meeting was described as friendly by sources within Raj Bhavan. In a gesture symbolizing amicability, Arlekar welcomed Vijayan by draping a shawl upon his arrival at the Raj Bhavan. The event was subsequently shared on their official social media platform ‘X’.

The discussion comes amidst increasing tension surrounding university matters in Kerala. Notably, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), a prominent political student organization with a base in the state, has shown an aggressive stance on these issues, according to sources like The Print.

Meanwhile, the Kerala Technological University continues to be at the center of debates, with discussions revolving around its functioning and management. It remains to be seen how the ongoing dialogue between the Chief Minister and Governor will influence these contentious matters.
