Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of Thiruvananthapuram, India, delivered a speech today at the Indian Embassy in Washington D.C., emphasizing the importance of the ‘Science for All’ initiative. The weekly newsletter, which simplifies complex scientific concepts and adds an element of fun to understanding them, has gained significant traction both within and outside India.

During his speech, CM Vijayan highlighted the importance of making science accessible to everyone, regardless of their educational background or age. He expressed his hope that ‘Science for All’ would inspire a new generation of scientists in India and beyond.

The initiative is part of the broader efforts by the Government of Kerala to promote scientific temperament and foster innovation. The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to discuss ongoing collaborative projects between Indian institutions and their American counterparts, emphasizing the potential for further partnerships in the field of science and technology.

In a separate development, renowned scientist Ravada Chandrasekhar was announced as the new editor-in-chief of ‘Science for All’. Known for his work in astrophysics, Dr. Chandrasekhar is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the publication. His appointment comes at a time when the initiative is expanding its reach globally.

The Chief Minister’s visit to the U.S., which began on July 5 with his wife, has been marked by several high-profile meetings and engagements, including this address at the Indian Embassy. The exact duration of his stay remains undisclosed.
