Coimbatore, September 12th, 2025: In a bid to address the long-standing demand of farmers in Tiruppur and Coimbatore, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has appealed to Chief Minister M K Stalin to engage in discussions with his Kerala counterpart Pinarayi Vijayan regarding the implementation of the Anamalaiaru-Nallaru project.
The appeal was made during Palaniswami’s ‘Makkalai Kappom Thamizhagathai Meetpom’ campaign in Madathukulam, where he also highlighted that the project had been proposed during the AIADMK regime but was later put on hold after the DMK took over.
The Anamalaiaru-Nallaru project is a significant demand of farmers in the districts of Tiruppur and Coimbatore, with Palaniswami stating that this could greatly contribute to the welfare of the people if implemented promptly.
With Stalin consistently emphasizing the focus of the India bloc on people’s welfare, Palaniswami suggested that a dialogue with Vijayan would be an appropriate step towards fulfilling this commitment. The exact details of when and how these discussions will take place are yet to be confirmed.
As the demand for the Anamalaiaru-Nallaru project gains traction, both state and central authorities will closely monitor the situation, keeping in mind the potential benefits it could bring to farmers in Tiruppur and Coimbatore.
