Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – The hospitality sector in the city is experiencing a surge as hotels, resorts, homestays, and guest houses have received a significant number of bookings in anticipation of the upcoming Navy Day celebrations and the eighth edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).

With approximately 300 accommodations available, ranging from budget to luxury options, the city caters to a diverse range of traveler preferences and budgets. Most of the rooms in the star hotels in the city and the resorts in Kovalam have been booked by guests and delegates attending these events.

The Navy Day celebrations are scheduled for December 4 at Shanghumugham Beach, where viewing galleries have been prepared and other arrangements are underway. In addition to this, delegate processing is ongoing for the IFFK, which will commence on December 12 at Tagore Theatre in Kochi.

The eight-day film festival will showcase a wide array of movies from various countries, providing a platform for both established and upcoming filmmakers to display their work. The Navy Day celebrations, on the other hand, are an annual event organized by the Indian Navy to commemorate its raising on December 4, 1941.

The influx of visitors for these events is expected to boost the local economy, particularly the hospitality sector. With a wide variety of accommodations and attractions in Thiruvananthapuram, tourists are encouraged to extend their stay beyond the event dates to explore the city’s rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty.
