In the realm of entertainment, the Indian digital landscape has witnessed a significant surge in recent times, with Malayalam films becoming increasingly popular. This week has seen several Malayalam productions debut on various Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms, catering to diverse tastes and preferences of viewers across the nation.

Starting from July 18, 2025, Amazon Prime Video will premiere ‘Kuberaa’, a gripping crime drama that takes audiences through the uncharted territories of Mumbai. Starring Dhanush as Deva Kallam, a beggar navigating the intricate web of power, corruption, and survival in the city, ‘Kuberaa’ promises to be an enthralling exploration of the underbelly of urban India.

Concurrently, Manorama MAX will be offering two more options for viewers, with ‘Asthra’ and ‘Mr & Mrs Bachelor’ becoming available on July 18, 2025, and ‘916 Kunjoottan’ accessible from the present date. While ‘Asthra’ offers a politically charged narrative, ‘Mr & Mrs Bachelor’ presents a comedic thriller, and ‘916 Kunjoottan’ promises a nostalgic journey that resonates with many.

Despite not being an original Malayalam release, ‘Kuberaa’ is garnering much anticipation among viewers due to its compelling storyline and the charismatic portrayal of Dhanush as Deva Kallam. With Mumbai serving as the backdrop for this crime drama, the film promises to offer a unique perspective on the city’s complexities.

As these Malayalam films continue to captivate audiences, they are also contributing to the growing diversity and accessibility of Indian cinema on OTT platforms. With a host of options now available, viewers can indulge in their preferred genres from the comfort of their homes, making for an enriching and engaging cinematic experience.
