In the ongoing debate between veteran Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha deputy chairman P J Kurien and the Youth Congress in Kerala, Kurien has reiterated his criticism, expressing concern over the lack of visibility and effectiveness at the grassroots level. Speaking to reporters on Monday, he clarified that his remarks were not personal but a reflection of the current state of the youth wing in Kerala.

The senior Congress leader emphasized that he does not see active young leaders even within his own constituency, highlighting what he perceives as a void in the Youth Congress’s local presence and influence. His remarks come amidst an escalating row between Kurien and the youth wing, with both parties firm on their respective positions.

The Congress has acknowledged Kurien’s concerns and urged for constructive dialogue to address these issues. The party leadership in Kerala has been emphasizing the need for strengthening the grassroots presence of the Youth Congress and engaging more actively with young voters.

Meanwhile, the Youth Congress in Kerala has maintained that they are committed to their ideals and working tirelessly to fulfill their responsibilities. They have also called for a dialogue with senior leaders like Kurien to understand his concerns better and work towards finding solutions.
