THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a notable achievement, Kerala has secured top spots in various categories of the National Council of Educational Research and Training’s (NCERT) PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024. The survey assesses students from Classes III, VI, and IX across India in various subjects and competency areas.

According to the survey results announced on July 3rd, Kerala secured the top spot among states in the Class VI category. It was placed second in the Class IX category and third in the Class III category. The state’s performance exceeded the national average across Language, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science in all three categories.

General Education Minister V Sivankutty has attributed Kerala’s outstanding performance to several government initiatives undertaken over the past year. The state government has been actively promoting a conducive learning environment, investing in infrastructure development, and implementing innovative educational policies.

This achievement comes at a time when education reforms are a hot topic of debate in India. The survey results serve as a testament to Kerala’s commitment to quality education and its continuous efforts to improve the state’s educational system.

The NCERT’s PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan is considered one of the most comprehensive surveys of the Indian school education system, with over 120,000 students from more than 7,600 schools participating in the assessment across the country. This year marks the third edition of the survey, which was previously known as the National Achievement Survey.

The state government has expressed its gratitude to the teachers, parents, and students for their dedication and hard work in achieving these impressive results. The success of Kerala’s educational system serves as an inspiration for other states in India to focus on improving their own educational institutions and policies.
