Kerala is preparing for heavy rainfall forecasted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) from June 29 to July 4. This follows the development of two low-pressure systems affecting both the eastern and western coasts of India.

The IMD predicts intense rainfall activity in Kerala due to these systems, causing concern not only within the state but also in neighboring states such as Odisha, Pathanamthitta, and Madhya Pradesh. The north Bay of Bengal is expected to host a low-pressure area by June 29, which is projected to move slowly west-northwestwards across these regions.

In a separate development, political tensions persist in Madhya Pradesh, with the state’s BJP government facing criticism over various issues. The recent elections held in certain districts have been marred by violence and allegations of electoral fraud, according to reports from The Print. The ongoing situation in Madhya Pradesh remains a matter of moderate concern nationally.

As the heavy rainfall is anticipated to affect not just Kerala but also other states, authorities are urging citizens to take necessary precautions and follow guidelines issued by the IMD and local disaster management teams. The impact of the rainfall on infrastructure, agriculture, and human life remains uncertain at this stage.
